Following full consultations, the Steering Committee of the eGov Member Section has approved the release of two new Guidance Documents. The first is on the Pitfalls of eGovernment Programmes and the second is about the use of FLOSS by Governments. For more details, see the Library section of this website.
The Kantara Initiative (KI) and OASIS are pleased to announce that the KI eGov Work Group (WG) and the OASIS eGov Member Section (MS) have established a Liaison relationship.
A new library of all approved outputs from the eGov Member Section is now available, see Library on the left-hand navigation panel.

The OASIS eGOV MS Steering Committee has approved new procedures whereby members of the Member Section can make proposals to them for new work items to be included in their Work Plan. The new procedures are now available at:

It is hoped members will take advantage of these new procedures to help prioritise and direct the work of the Steering Committee for the benefit of the whole of the Member Section.

OASIS invites you to attend a free, 30-minute webinar providing advice and guidance for the use of Free, Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) by Governments . The webinar is hosted by the eGov Member Section and will be presented by two members of their Steering Committee, Charles Schulz and John Borras.
The OASIS Board has approved a revised version of the Rules of Procedure for the MS. This new version reflects the current state of activity within the MS and its current focus, and clarifies some ambiguities in the earlier version. The new version is available under the Governance section of this website.
OASIS is pleased to announce the results of the special election for the OASIS eGovernment (eGov) Member Section Steering Committee.
Congratulations to Mr. Jerry Smith from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) - USA Department of Defense. He has been elected to serve until February 2010. Jerry replaces Randeep Sudan from The World Bank and the Steering Committee wishes to thank him for his major contribution to the eGov Member Service.
The OASIS eGovernment Member Section Steering Committee has submitted the 2009/2010 work programme. The work plan will be used as a two-three year strategy document that will drive the mission statement for the eGov Member Section.
OASIS joins with the World Bank Group's Global Information and Communication Technologies Department to invite representatives from the public and private sectors to participate in an eGovernment Workshop on 17 April in Washington, D.C. The workshop will explore the significance of open standards for efficient, citizen-centric and transformational government. Issues surrounding public financial management, e-procurement, security, and interoperability frameworks will be discussed.
