OASIS is pleased to announce the results of the election for the 2011 OASIS eGov Member Section (MS) Steering Committee.Congratulations to Harm Jan van Burg - Netherlands Ministry of Finance, Bob Sunday - Government of Canada and Colin Wallis – Government of New Zealand representing governmental entities. Also, congratulations to John Borras and Steve Mutkoski - Microsoft, representing business centric entities. They have been elected to serve until March 2013.
The Transformational Government Workshop was hosted at the World Bank's offices in Washington DC on 9th December 2010. The aim was to review the work on the newly formed Transformational Government Framework Technical Committee.

Following the recent very successful conference in Brussels on Green IT for Green Policy, we have produced the attached Action Plan for taking forward some of the important technical aspects identified during the conference. We hope that by delivering on these actions it will enable OASIS to make a significant contribution to the Green agenda. The OASIS eGov Member Section is pleased to announce that the new Transformational Government Framework Technical Committee has joined the eGov Member Section.
OASIS is partnering with the 2010 Belgian Presidency of the European Union (EU) to host a Green I.T. for Green Policy conference on 13-14 October 2010 in Brussels, Belgium. This conference will be an official event in the EU calendar during the Belgian Presidency and will be hosted at the Belgium Federal Ministry of Finance.
The eGov Member Section Steering Committee is playing a prominent role in the planning of this conference.

Following full consultations, the Steering Committee of the eGov Member Section has approved the release of a new Guidance Document. This one covers making the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 and provides advice to Governments on the need for removing any barriers from making this transition. For more details, see the Library section of this website.
Peter Brown, OASIS Board Chairman, and the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Secretary General, Kunio Mikuriya, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote technology standards worldwide. A full report on the signing is available at http://www.wcoomd.org/speeches/?v=1&lid=1&cid=2&id=227 and a copy of the MOU is attached.
The eGov Member Section will take the lead role for OASIS in liaising with the WCO and helping them to address the needs of Customs administrations in emerging areas relating to information technology.
